SICIS is an Italian leading company in the field of luxury artistic mosaics, whose works grace some of the world’s most spectacular locations, including Dubai’s Burj Al Arab Hotel, New York’s Hotel Plaza, and Las Vegas’ Caesar Palace.
Since its foundation in 1987 by Maurizio Leo Placuzzi, SICIS has given a new life to the complex art of mosaic, proving that exceptional results can originate from the union of tradition, innovation, creativity, and know-how.
The opening night of the new flagship showroom in Dover Street, in the prestigious neighbourhood of Mayfair, has given an opportunity to a selection of international designers and architects to experience the fineness of SICIS craftsmanship. Moreover, the event attracted journalists from the UK media landscape, as well as prominent guests from London’s political and diplomatic scene.
Distributed over four floors of a Victorian townhouse, the showroom hosts a selection of the company’s most representative pieces. Floors, walls, and ceilings are adorned with elaborate mosaics influenced by images of nature, mythology, and classic art. An up-close look at the coverings allows to appreciate the precision of the work and the quality of the materials, but the viewers need to take a few steps back to understand that, when it comes to mosaics, the whole is greater than the simple sum of the parts. Cutting-edge furniture, sumptuous fabrics, high-end jewellery and upmarket watches realised with the technique of micro-mosaic complete the offer.
B&P UK was in charge of organising the opening night of the showroom, ensuring a high quality reception, and communicating the launch to the UK media. The team is proud of having supported SICIS in the reach of this important milestone.
